Welcome to Vibrant Spiritual Living!

Vibrant Spiritual Living is an introductory website for those who are interested in learning about non-religion based spiritual living. Many who are seeking this knowledge were reared or found themselves trapped in religions where they realized that they were being controlled by hierachical organizations that did not respect their 'right to choice' regarding personal expression, lifestyle, desired social and relationships alignments, life's work and so on.

There are no stories here that are meant to influence our behavior. There is no mention of mortal sin, spilled blood, blaming spirit entities or personal judgments here. This is a safe and loving place for all people, regardless of their background. No one here is concerned with social ridicule or political marginalization of any individual. With regard to spiritual living, there are only a few concepts that we all must understand. They are these:

  1. The spiritual laws (like man-made and natural physical laws) are always in operation (whether we realize it or not)

  2. The current state of our life situation is a direct reflection of our personal awareness, understanding and engagement with spiritual laws.

  3. Knowledge alone, about spiritual laws, is not enough. Its concepts and principles (wisdom) must actually be lived and practiced in our everyday living for us to experience the benefits and rewards of spiritual living.

Spiritual living is not a spectator activity. We have to get in there and get ourselves dirty with experience. That requires a commitment. No one is going to monitor us and make us keep such a commitiment. We are completely on our own in this pursuit. We can take breaks as often as we desire. We are free to slack off at any time. Only our decisions, choices and actions will determine the direction of our spiritual progress or decline. Here is an example:

Let's imagine that we are in a small water vessel (a boat or a canoe) on a river that has a strong current with lots of bends and turns along the way. Once we have committed to taking this journey, we have also, implicitly, accepted the responsibility of paddling and steering our water vessel safely around the bends and turns along the river's path.

Let's also suppose that on a particular day, perhaps we are having a bad day and we decide that we do not want to steer and paddle so that we have a safe journey. We decide to take a 'well-deserved' break. The water current is still moving us forward. No one is going to warn us, threaten to punish us or even shame us for taking such a break.

Since we are no longer interested in steering the vessel so that we have a safe trip, we are likely to crash into the river bank at some point or perhaps, we might wreck into some jagged rocks or a downed tree. Our lack of attention and responsibility has consequences. The results of our lack of attention might appear as a punishment; it surely is not.

This is the way of life when we are not aligned with the spiritual laws. Our quality of life is seriously degraded. In many cases, a degraded quality of life is what we are use to because, for many of us, it is all that we know throughout our life experience. Life is extremely unpleasant and rarely fulfilling when we are not aligned with the spiritual laws.

If our life is not working very well, for us currently, it is likely that we are constantly being penalized by our own ignorance, in our choices, regarding of the spiritual laws. Even if we do not know better, we will still be penalized. There is no allowance or grace for ignorance in this matter.

For example, if we pick up a venomous snake and it bites us causing us to become deathly ill, we are only being penalized by our own ignorance. If we somehow survive this ordeal and we are able to identify that snake breed as venomus, we probably would not do it again.

Life teaches us through a series of tests. Every choice that we make carries consequences. Those consequences can range from negotiable to severe. In most cases, the consequences will be negotiable. For example, should I do laundry or go grocery shopping? A case can be made for either decision. When those decision violate a law (man-made, natural or spiritual law), the conseqences could be more series.

If we do not use caution, good judgment, common sense and critical thinking, we will be taught a series of life-altering lessons until we finally learn them. Once we do that, we can pass them on to our loved ones. If those loved ones do not heed our wisdom, they, also, will suffer the same way until each learns those lessons for him or herself.
